In 1968, visionary leaders in Napa County created our nation’s first Agricultural Preserve to protect the county from the relentless urban and suburban sprawl rampant in the San Francisco Bay. Over the last 50 years as agriculture thrived, land protections were strengthened beyond the original Ag Preserve of 23,000 acres to 31,609 acres on the valley floor. In 1973, Agriculture, Watershed and Open Space designations for the hillsides were enacted and land protections expanded to 475,000 acres.

To preserve our farmlands, cultural legacy, rural lifestyle, and natural resources, I pledge to support the Napa Agricultural Preserve.
